    About The Role
WaitWhat is seeking a creative, quick-thinking, versatile Lead Producer for a new, dynamic show in our portfolio based on a call-in advice format.  Like our other properties Masters of Scale, Rapid Response, and Pioneers of AI, this new podcast (name TBD) will be produced in both audio and video formats, taking advantage of our growing audience on YouTube while staying true to our high production standards in audio.  WaitWhat is a multi-platform shop that thinks about our broader shows as franchises that meet our audiences where they are, whether that be via an audio podcast, YouTube short, LinkedIn post, or live event.

We are looking for strong storytelling instincts, keen ears, and a versatile, adaptable can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will be excited to collaborate with teams across our organization to make this property really shine.
In addition to audio editing, the producer will also take part in guest curation, idea-generating and editorial crafting of the show, innovating on the format; you will be a teammate of a creative cross-disciplinary team. This role is an ideal fit for someone who is passionate about entrepreneurship and small businesses, and/or who has had previous experience with listener call-in shows or segments.

  • Coordinate with mix engineer on episode sound design, mix and mastering
  • Outline and draft scripts for hosts
  • Be comfortable with recording person-on-street interviews; being on mic and on camera for segments and/or social media
  • Maintain voice of show across platforms (with support of EP and hosts)
  • With support of AP, handle recording logistics, including booking studios and tape syncs
  • Coordinate with video editor, giving editorial direction and feedback to episode videos
  • Collaborate with the AP and marketing team on preparing social media and promotional assets for the show
  • Participate in creative ideation, brainstorming and supporting general WaitWhat franchise extensions such as live events and webinars
  • Work alongside video, design, technology, events, audience engagement and all WaitWhat teams on content creation, production, management, and promotion
  • Support the Executive Producer in sharing timely updates with the team that include content, data and goals, and budget
  • Be service-oriented with internal and external partners
  • Bring a constructive mindset to all aspects of your job. This includes: ‘No job too big or too small’, ‘all hands on deck’ and ‘we can find a way’ mentality
  • Requirements
  • 6+ years production experience in podcasting, video, or radio, specifically with listener call-in formats; previous experience lead producing a show preferred
  • Must be located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and authorized to work for any US company without sponsorship now or in the future
  • A keen understanding of how businesses are created and run and how business fits into society at large
  • Previous experience working on business-oriented media preferred
