About The Role
The Data Analytics & Marketing Ops Manager at WaitWhat will organize and oversee our  podcast, social, newsletter and web analytics as well as support with our marketing technology stack. You’ll be responsible for data reporting for our Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing and Audience Development teams as well as the Executive and Sales / Alliances functions. In addition, you’ll support our Marketing teams in optimizing workflows via our marketing technology stack and manage our ad operations processes.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, excels in project management, and has a strong data and content analytics background. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with precision will be critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting (40-50%):
  • Analyze podcast listenership and network audience data to uncover insights on retention, growth opportunities, and campaign performance
  • Build models, dashboards and reporting frameworks to track and optimize key marketing KPIs, including CAC, ROI, LTV, engagement and conversion, across multiple channels
  • Deliver up-to-date, data-driven insights for key stakeholder deliverables, including pitch decks, campaign wrap reports and consistent audience growth across audio, social, newsletter and web
  • Develop attribution models to better understand the impact of various marketing channels
  • Marketing Technology Management (40%):
  • Oversee and optimize the marketing tech stack (e.g., CRM, email, analytics tools) for seamless integration and cross-platform functionality
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Content and Alliances teams to identify opportunities to implement new tools, technologies and workflows to streamline processes
  • Provide training and support to ensure team members can leverage marketing tools, technologies, and best practices effectively
  • Ad Campaign Management (10%):
  • Manage audio and video ad distribution across channels, ensuring campaigns meet KPIs
  • Track and report on key metrics (e.g., impressions, conversion rates) to optimize performance
  • Implement best practices for campaign execution, tracking, and optimization
  • (Bonus) Lifecycle Marketing Management (5-15%):
  • Develop data-driven communication workflows to engage users at key lifecycle stages and improve retention 
  • Implement audience segmentation for personalized marketing outreach, including event invitations
  • Refine marketing operations processes by identifying and improving inefficiencies 
  • Leverage A/B testing and performance data to refine messaging and automation
  • Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Data, Content or Marketing analytics / operations or a related role, with a focus on data reporting, optimization and automation
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data segmentation, reporting, and dashboard creation to drive data-informed marketing strategies
  • Experience with marketing technology platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Blaze, Triton Digital, Art19, Sprout Social, YouTube, and Google Analytics, including hands-on management of integrations and workflows (while expertise in every platform isn't required, strong proficiency in multiple is essential)
  • Willingness to recommend other data softwares or platforms, particularly those that are audio-specific
  • Capability to design and implement logic-based workflows and automated email nurtures to enhance audience engagement and conversion
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders

    About The Role
    WaitWhat is looking for a dynamic, action-oriented Marketing Manager to develop and execute successful growth marketing and audience engagement strategies across our portfolio of existing and new properties. Experience generating and implementing integrated campaigns across formats is key, with attention to how messaging resonates and audiences engage across podcasts, video, live events, email, and social. 
    The role is highly visible and cross-functional, requiring a collaborative spirit and an ability to work nimbly across internal teams – including production, editorial, and design – and with key external stakeholders – from show guests to strategic partners. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative and strategic, with a knack for both data-driven and human-centered storytelling. A demonstrated enthusiasm in the conversations surrounding business and technology is key. 
    Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive audience growth across WaitWhat’s existing portfolio. Craft impactful go-to-market strategies and launch plans for new media properties and live events. 
  • Execute on marketing campaign deliverables – including coordinating assets for media buys, social promotions, app banners, audio promotions, email marketing, and more. Project manage and deliver assets to vendors and external partners in alignment with company priorities and campaign deadlines.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, budget tracking and sponsor needs. Manage campaign testing and optimization across digital channels. 
  • Present qualitative and quantitative analyses to stakeholders. Surface data-driven recommendations and serve as the voice of the audience to guide strategic content decisions. 
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance and development of WaitWhat’s CRM to support strategic email marketing segmentation and automations. Uphold email marketing best practices and ensure data hygiene.
  • Support the alliances and business development function by driving promotional reporting for partner programs, managing audience/brand health surveys, presenting audience data, and conceptualizing new marketing initiatives based on our partners’ audience goals.
  • Collaborate closely with design, social, and video teams to craft and optimize digital assets. Provide creative briefs and strategic direction based on marketing opportunities. 
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with high-profile guests, corporate marketing/PR teams, startup accelerators, marketing vendors, and other media companies. 
  • Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with a proven track record in marketing for a premium media business brand. You have experience leveraging diverse channels and tactics, managing end-to-end campaigns, and executing against a holistic go-to-market strategy.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills. You have experience forecasting, monitoring, and measuring campaign performance to drive results and hit aggressive growth goals. 
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills. You inspire trust, embrace collaboration, and communicate with clarity, confidence, and kindness. 
  • A strong sense of ownership and bias for action. You’re able to quickly spot and execute on opportunities for audience growth and process improvement, with a keen eye for operational efficiency.  
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for an audio brand that produces podcast episodes at scale that includes experience with modern podcast marketing tactics. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment. 
  • Demonstrated interest in business content and news. You’re an infinite-learner and are genuinely curious about AI, emerging technologies, leadership strategies, and market trends. 
  • Proficiency in marketing to a business audience and communicating with senior executives.
  • Experience building UTM tracking and campaign management infrastructures from the ground up. Comfortable collaborating with developers on building and optimizing marketing dashboards.
